Last year was a big occasion for the Royal Windsor Horse Show as it was given international three-star status for the first time in its history. The May 2014 event welcomed 50,000 visitors over five days of electrifying competition between the biggest names in equestrian sport.

International competitions were held in four disciplines: Show Jumping; Dressage; Driving and Endurance, while more than 100 National Showing Classes with over 30 different breeds of horses and ponies also took place.

CDI3* International Dressage

International Dressage returned to Royal Windsor Horse Show for the first time since 2002 and British World No.1 Charlotte Dujardin stole the show on Thursday and Friday evening, winning both the CDI3* Grand Prix and Freestyle.

CSI3* Alltech Grand Prix

The introduction of international three-star Show Jumping drew an outstanding list of entries from 24 countries, all competing for a new injection of prize money. The climax was the Alltech Grand Prix for the Kingdom of Bahrain Trophy on Sunday, when Brit Robert Whitaker clinched first place from his cousin William in a spectacular jump off.

International Driving Grand Prix

The Land Rover International Driving Grand Prix took place in perfect conditions through all three phases. 32 competitors from 13 nations, including six competitors from Great Britain, competed in the Four-in-Hands class, which was won by the USA’s Chester Weber.

The second running of the Royal Windsor Endurance 120km CEI** competition resulted in a win shared by His Highness Sheikh Nasser Bin Hamad Al Khalifa of Bahrain and His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum of The United Arab Emirates. It was a particularly proud family day for the two competitors, who are brothers-in-law.

Land Rover was there supporting every moment of the action. Visitors were able to test out our vehicles on the Land Rover Experience ‘Ultradek’ off-road demonstration course, and give radio controlled models a spin too.

There was also a vehicle display stand, featuring the Discovery Vision Concept, and the Land Rover Lawn, a hospitality area for our owners.
